This is a database of the collection of microalgae
at the Department of Life Sciences, University of Coimbra. It includes a list of about 3,000 cultures identified to species level, the media recipes and related information. Cultures are unialgal, but not axenic.

Nearly 1,000 other remaining cultures are identified to generic level and are also being added to this database.

Image gallery is not complete, it will show at least one micrograph/drawing of each species listed; size of the cells has yet to be inserted.
